The terms of using this site, and of working together.

These terms are between you and Sharilyn D. Franklin, Ph.D., doing business as The Leadership Doctor®, St. Louis, Missouri. By using this site or requesting a consultation, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Leadership consulting, coaching, and educational programs for individuals, teams, and organizations. Everything begins with an examination: a Check-Up, or the scoping conversation that precedes an organizational engagement. Nothing is prescribed that has not been examined, and nothing is sold from this website. Every engagement is scoped, priced, and agreed in writing before it begins.

Coaching and consulting are collaborative. The value of the work depends substantially on your own participation, candor, and follow-through. No specific result, promotion, revenue, hiring outcome, or organizational change is promised or guaranteed, and nothing on this site should be read as such a promise.

These services are not psychotherapy, counseling, medical treatment, legal advice, accounting advice, or investment advice, and they are not a substitute for any of them. If what you need falls outside this scope, you will be told so and helped to find the right professional. In an emergency, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line rather than this practice.

Selecting a time on the booking page reserves that time and sends you an acknowledgement. The meeting is confirmed when you receive confirmation directly from Dr. Franklin. If a selected time cannot be kept, an alternative will be offered promptly. Please give as much notice as you reasonably can if you need to cancel or move a session; repeated missed sessions without notice may end an engagement.

Fees are set in the written agreement for your engagement and are not published on this site, because scope is settled in conversation rather than quoted from a list. Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. Unless the agreement says otherwise, fees are payable in advance of the sessions they cover, and the consultation itself carries no fee and no obligation.

What you share in the work is treated as confidential and is not disclosed without your permission, except where disclosure is required by law or is necessary to prevent serious harm. Where an organization sponsors an engagement, what the sponsor receives is agreed in writing with you before the work begins.

The text, design, frameworks, assessments, program materials, and other content of this site and of the programs are owned by Dr. Franklin and may not be copied, reproduced, taught, or distributed without written permission. Materials given to you during an engagement are licensed for your own use and may not be redistributed.

Please do not attempt to disrupt the site, access it by automated means, misrepresent your identity, or use it in a way that breaks the law or infringes anyone’s rights.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, liability arising out of the services or this site is limited to the fees paid for the engagement in question, and there is no liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, including lost profits or lost opportunity.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, and any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in St. Louis, Missouri. These terms may be updated from time to time; the revised version will be posted here with a new effective date.
