What I collect, and what I do with it.

This website is operated by Sharilyn D. Franklin, Ph.D., doing business as The Leadership Doctor®, in St. Louis, Missouri. If you have a question about your information, write to franklin@leadershipdoctor.org.

When you request a consultation, ask about a Clinic, inquire about speaking, or join the mailing list, you give me your name and email address, and optionally your phone number, your organization, and whatever you choose to write in the open fields. When you book a time, you also give the date and time you selected. If you become a client and pay for an engagement, payment is handled by a payment processor; I receive a record that payment was made, not your full card number.

The platform that hosts this site records ordinary technical information such as the pages visited, the approximate region a visit came from, the type of device and browser, and the site that referred you. This is used to understand which pages are read and whether the site is working. Cookies are used to keep the site functioning and to remember that a form has already been submitted.

To answer you. To schedule and hold the conversation you asked for. To send the acknowledgement and any follow-up connected to your request. To send the occasional note if you asked to be on the mailing list. To keep records of engagements. To improve what is on the site. Your information is never sold, rented, or traded.

Requesting a consultation or joining the list means you will receive email from me. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. If you separately opt in to text messages, message and data rates may apply, frequency varies, and you can stop at any time by replying STOP or get help by replying HELP. Mobile information is never shared with third parties for their own marketing.

A small number of service providers process information in order to run the practice: the website and email platform that hosts this site and sends its messages, the calendar service used for scheduling, the video service used for sessions, and the payment processor used when an engagement is paid for. Each handles information only to provide its service. Information may also be disclosed if the law requires it.

Inquiry records are kept while there is a reasonable prospect of working together and for a period afterward for business records. Mailing list records are kept until you unsubscribe. Client engagement records are kept as long as professional and tax obligations require. You may ask for your information to be deleted at any time, and it will be deleted except where a record must be retained by law.

You may ask what information I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or ask me to stop contacting you. Write to franklin@leadershipdoctor.org and I will respond. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your local law, and those rights are honored.

This site is intended for working adults. It is not directed to children under sixteen, and information is not knowingly collected from them.

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes will be described at the top of the page.
